Close Reading Club

Join us in Middle School Close Reading Discussion Club, a fun and enriching 30-minute session held every week that has become a favorite among students. Each week, we delve into short works, both fiction and nonfiction, to explore and analyze the nuances of language. Students are encouraged to share their favorite parts of each sentence, leading to lively discussions about the impact of word choice, imagery, and sentence structure.

Math Puzzles & Games

Each session presents students with intriguing math puzzles that require class collaboration, making learning both fun and intellectually stimulating. This unique setup helps reinforce and build grade-appropriate math skills while fostering a love for math as a deeply engaging and creative discipline. It's an ideal way for kids to develop critical thinking skills and see math problems as exciting challenges to overcome together. Plus, review key math skills through games. Join us and watch your child's math abilities and enthusiasm grow!

Study Skills through Games

Too young for our intensive How the Brain Learns: Brain-Based Study Skills class? Not to worry! You can learn the basics in this fun game-based class. Each week, through playing games like Kahoot, Gimkit, and more, students will learn a useful study skill and the science behind it.

Vocabulary Words and Roots through Games

It’s always the right time to learn new words. It’s even better when you understand a word’s roots, allowing you to figure out dozens or even hundreds of other words at the same time. If you like Gimkit, if you like learning how language works, and if you like having a great vocabulary - this is the class for you. Our list comes from Red Hot Root Words 2; students can choose to get a copy of the book for additional practice.
